Our folks took us to the mountains nearly every weekend. One night on our way home, a young bear crossed the road. Dad quickly stopped and a pile of Russell kids tumbled out of the Suburban. Everyone except for me. Mom grabbed me before I could exit and told me I was too young and that Dad shouldn`t have his kids out with a bear. I could hear them chattering about the little bear, who had quickly found a tree, just in flashlight range. That was one time that being the youngest did NOT pay off.
